Meet Recap

The Lady Hillmen dropped a pair of conference duals last night against Edgerton High School and Badger High School. In looking at the results, you might notice that all of the times are a few seconds slower than what we typically swim. Last night during warm ups one of Edgerton’s blocks snapped in half while a swimmer was on it and she fell into the water hitting her head on the way down. The officials deemed the blocks unsafe and all swimmers therefore had to start from an on deck position. This made starts for individual events and relays quite difficult. The ladies were flexible and handled the situation with a positive attitude. We did a few practice starts before the meet and then they were off to compete. It’s a little bittersweet when you see times that match personal records and you know that if they had had the blocks, they would have achieved even faster times. Despite the surprising circumstances of having to swim without a block, they did awesome.
