The Platteville Hillmen defeated the Cuba City Cubans on Monday evening a tightly contested Non-Conference boys basketball game at Platteville High School, by a final score of 54-47.
The game was tight throughout as the first half and was a back and forth contest that saw the Hillmen lead by as many as seven points. The Cubans fought back to cut the deficit to just three, as the Hillmen led 30-27 at the intermission. The second half would be no different as the Cubans and Hillmen would battle back and forth. The game was tied at 47 and then Hillmen would score the final seven points of the game to hold on for the victory. Cade Rohrbach led the Hillmen with 24 points on the evening and Connor Riley added 8 for the victors.
The victory allowed the Hillmen to improve to 9-3 overall and they will return to action on Friday evening when they host the River Valley Blackhawks in a key SWC game with both teams tied for first place. Game time is set for 7:30 PM at Platteville High School.
