Monday evening saw the Platteville Hillmen defeat the Richland Center Hornets by a final score of 73-39 in SWC Conference play. The victory enabled the Hillmen to remain in a first place tie with Prairie Du Chien atop the SWC standings with one game remaining in conference play for both teams.
The Hillmen got off to a fast start on Monday as they raced to a 9-0 lead just two minutes into the contest. That lead would continue to grow throughout the first half as the Hillmen held the Hornets to just five made field goals in the opening 18 minutes of the game as the Hillmen led 41-15 at the break. The second half would see much the as the Hillmen would not allow the Hornets to get any closer than twenty points as both teams continued to play hard throughout.
Isaiah Oswald led the Hillmen with 18 points, Connor Riley added 15 and in all twelve Hillmen reached the scoring column. The win improved the Hillmen record to 14-5 overall and 8-1 in the SWC. The Hilllmen will return to action on Thursday evening in the regular season finale when they host the Lancaster Flying Arrows on Parent and Senior Night at Platteville High School. Game time is set for 7:30 PM.
