Two Pitchers Work Together As Platteville Hillmen Varsity Defeats River Valley In Shut-Out
Platteville softball defeated River Valley 2-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Kaycie Wagner struck out #15 to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Platteville Hillmen Varsity pitchers struck out seven, while River Valley pitchers sat down three.
Abby Wauckershauser was the winning pitcher for Platteville Hillmen Varsity. She lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out one and walking zero. Wagner threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Kaycie had the most strikeouts on the night with 6. Wagner recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Platteville.
A Hoffman was in the pitcher’s circle for River Valley. She surrendered zero runs on three hits over four innings, striking out one. Mcelwee threw three innings in relief.
Platteville collected nine hits on the day. A single by Ogden and Graney put runners on and a double by Wagner scored the first run of the night. A sac fly by Nies scored the second run of the night for Platteville. Wagner and Bristol Ogden all had multiple hits for Platteville Hillmen Varsity.
